Re: seat mount fabrication
Its pretty clearly laid out in the documentation whats required for a street car as Bart said, but where it may get fuzzy is for rally cars, I don't know i'm just guessing as i have never owned a rally car let alone taken one through cert. I do know that Palmside get a few more liberties than the av...

Can't help but have you thought about the VHT vinyl spray? I've used it before, It works well as long as the vinyl is in good condition. i'e nice and clean, no rips etc

Re: seat mount fabrication
I talked to the certifier (after i had done the work, my mistake) and he said you can't weld to the floor, end of story. It has to be a bolted and riveted connection through the floor unless. Anything between those floor mounts and the seats can be welded though which is retarded. I'd go talk to you...

Re: SR16ve RWD
Correct, Use the pistons and rings from sr16ve and put them in the sr20de and you'll have 12:1 (or there abouts) compression. The 16ve pistons have the same pin height etc as 20de pistons just more dome. They also have real deep valve reliefs because the high lobes in the 16ve has 12mm of lift so yo...

Re: seat mount fabrication
I don't know what the motorsport regs are but if you can use your original seat mount points it makes LVV Cert way easier. I got stung when I welded new seat mounts into the car to suit different seats as mine were rusty as so I had cut them out, which is a No go for LVV Cert so had to cut them out....

Re: SR16ve RWD
VVT like on the s14/15 silvias just changes the cam timing. Sr20ve works exactly the same as VTEC as in it has a third cam lobe with hhigher duration and lift. People use sr16ve pistons in sr20de because they give 12:1 comp in a DE. Sr16ve has a shorter stroke but same size bore so to get 11:1 in th...

Re: SR16ve RWD
Also I've been wondering, it might sound like a dumb question but i figured you'd be able to give me a definitive answer. With the 6 speed behind a s13 (or any other non 6 speed sr20 i guess) is there anyway to use a s13 or 14 flywheel, maybe swapping bell housings and flywheels? I'm pretty sure you...

Re: SR16ve RWD
Your an action man, good work. Same as bart said it would be awesome if you could put up some pictures of the front cover holes that don't line up. Also was that an s14/15 sr20de that you used as the donor block. That main drain hole that you blocked at the rear you made an external drain that came ...
