Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - all straightened up, ready for paint

Hi Kitch, looking good. Have you tried Standox paint systems? They specialize in classic vehicle colours so should be able to match the colour your after. I know RJP are retailers up here but not sure who else sorry. Hope this helps :)

Re: taiwai doorskin advice

Taiwanese panels generally have accurate shaping but its often the edges and holes that dont line up or fit right. If you dont mind reshaping the edges or bumping a swage around then its quite worth while. Who knows, you might be lucky enough to get a good one! Tai panels are always a bit hit and mi...

Re: Stripping out coupe/Rust repairs/Welding

As Chris said, I'd stay as far away from POR 15 as you can unless your painting a chassis or suspension parts. POR stands for paint over rust, so that cant be good for a start. From experience, it sticks to everything and nothing sticks to it. I've heard of fresh paint work peeling off like a sheet ...

Re: Braasy's Datsun 1200 (B110) 4 Door Sedan

Hey Kitch. the problem we seem to have is getting clearance past #1 header pipe. All combinations so far have had the same issue. Stud / mounting fitment wont be a problem once we get that close but for now nothing sits closer than an inch off the head without hitting anything. If i linish the lower...

Re: Stripping out coupe/Rust repairs/Welding

Oh, i forgot to mention. If you have any panels in bare metal and your not priming them straight away just cover them with Kephos (a thin clear coating designed to promote paint adhesion) otherwise known as Paint grip. It will stop your panels from rusting and wont affect your primer or paint proces...

Re: Stripping out coupe/Rust repairs/Welding

Hi Luke There are many ways to remove the paint and rust off your coupe, as others have mentioned all with thier own advantages and disadvantages. Some things to consider- Soda blasting cleans panels very well and wont distoret the steel, but is exspensive and doesnt remove deep pitted rust anyway. ...
