Zdog - just got my car started using the Pertronix with megasquirt if you're interested. Seems the cheapest and easiest way (although not necessarily the best)

I think the 411 was alloy centre and this one (410) steel or whatever. Maybe stronger but heavier??

So as per other thread I posted, starter seems stuffed. Keen on something that I could get hold of before the weekend. Will drive around akl and broader area to pick up if that works (such as Hamilton to whangarei)

I can see from the engine bay pic why you don't want to take it out, very frustrating. Can you get under it and check the starter is bolted up square? The engine turns over freely by hand but when I engage the starter I may get a couple of turns, but sound pretty horrible, then it sort of jams.
