Re: Removing bearings from rear axle

Looks like Nissan may be able to get some of them ex Japan. Seems really hit and miss who you talk to there. I found a really helpful chap, where in the past they didn't want to know. Looks like they will cost a mint though. $240 for two bearings, two collars and two seals. Then there are still othe...

Re: Removing bearings from rear axle

Not Apco yet, but did try Repco, who seem to work off the same product as Apco. I'll try Nissan tomorrow as well

Re: Removing bearings from rear axle

Hey guys, Been calling around bnt and Auckland bearings but no one has listings for the bearings and collars and can't cross reference the oem number for the collar. From some of the googling I've been doing it looks like the Datsun 1200 kits may be the same, but again nobody had listings for 1200 k...

Re: Removing bearings from rear axle

Hey man, Yeah I'll try BNT and the likes when they reopen. I did find this here that suggests the bearing and seals are interchangeable with the 1200 bits http://www.timken.com/en-us/products/Documents/Automotive_Aftermarket_Bearing_Seal_Application_Catalog_1989_older.pdf" onclick="window....

Re: Removing bearings from rear axle

Thanks man, So the lock ring is replaceable? I don't mind paying for the bits when I get the bearings, I just don't want to damage anything not replaceable. From what you say it sounds like it is fine to just cuts/smash them off. Yes the package did reach me, just late yesterday! My wife said a pack...

Re: Removing bearings from rear axle

Check what bits you've got in the new kit, I'm pretty sure what you've labelled as the outer bearing is actually a spacer. If there isn't one in the new kit don't cut it off. Hmmm don't actually have the new kit yet.... Do you know if some of the bits (like what you said is the spacer) will come of...

Removing bearings from rear axle

Hey guys, Went to see the mechanic the other day to see about getting the bearings pressed off the rear axle. He said just to cut them off, which is fine, I just need to check that I am going to be cutting all the right bits first. In this pic I've marked what I assume some of the bits to be. Do I j...

Silicone hose for brake booster

Hey guys, Just looking at running all my vacuum lines and was just wondering if anyone has used silicone hose for the brake booster? I'm thinking I will need something like this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/radiators-cooling-systems/auction-433333492.htm" o...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

Awesome update, I'd be interested in a set of caliper brackets if you wanted to get a bigger volume order. Also still keen on those J series engine mounts if you come across them. Will the supercharger fit under the bonnet? I'll get the prototype caliper brackets done and then if they work out, wil...
