Re: Shorter 7/8" master cylinder for b210/180b booster
Still looking for master cylinder options as the datsun masters (i.e. 180b) have the bleed nipples in a position that could foul on the supercharger. I have found some info that suggests that some Mazda master cylinders (i.e. rx7 s3, b series utes) are 7/8th bore (or greater), and share the same ver...

Shorter 7/8" master cylinder for b210/180b booster
Hi, just progressing my brake upgrade a bit and need to source a 7/8" (minimum) master for the rx7 4 pots. I was going to order the 7/8" master cylinder from maddat (http://www.maddat.com.au/brake-parts.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Product No - MC7/8) which ...

Re: Front caliper clearance and bleed
I know you have put a lot of work into making it happen with the stock hub & spindle, but I'm hoping I can achieve the same with a replacement spindle. Yep could be the go. Will be keen to hear where you get with it. If I have time this weekend, I will take the whole setup off and take it to a ...

Re: Front caliper clearance and bleed
I don't know whether it helps or not but I've ground out the inside of the wheels on the front of the DR as they wouldn't clear the spigot part of the hubs, you could do this then get some spacers with bigger OD hubcentric rings? Thanks. I thought about this but as the hub OD is already 73mm, I'd n...

Re: Front caliper clearance and bleed
My Rx7 calipers are almost flush. If they didnt have the fluid bridge that extends outside the caliper they would be Yep - part of my issue will be related to the Evo rotor I am using which has a low top hat height. I choose them specifically to keep the caliper forward, so the back of it doesn't f...

Re: Front caliper clearance and bleed
man that hub has a super long spigot on there Yep, and long spindle in behind it, hence why I want to avoid machining down the hub, as I'd imagine it could become a longwinded process (hub and then spindle and then possible redrill spindle for split pin etc. etc.). However keen to hear if anybody h...

Front caliper clearance and bleed
Hi All, Finally got my barn up and going and car gear out of storage so I am getting back into my 410 project. A couple of snags I have just hit which I would like some opinions on 1) Due to where the cross member extends to, there is risk of fouling the brake line where it enters the caliper if you...

Re: Nissan datsun bluebird 410
I would have thought around $2k - 3k for a runner with live plates. I've seen some on trademe for more but they tend to take a long time to sell, if they sell at all. Dead plates maybe $1000-1400. Hard to say. Re compliance can be costly as they pick up a lot more than a wof. Can be risky with a 410...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410
Just a quick update Moved into our new place about a month ago and on Thurs this was happening to prepare for the barn photo (1).JPG Hopefully have the car out of storage and be able to work on it again in a month or so. Bart - sorry I missed your question about rear brakes. I haven't had a chance t...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410
Hey Bart, Didn't get a chance yet unfortunately. Just got all the bearings together and then I had to quickly throw everything back together to get it rolling again so I could clear out the garage (apparently garages packed with car parts aren't good for house sales). I'll let you know how I get on ...
