Re: a15 rear engine plate

Ok tested on the weekend and it seems all good now. The combo that fixed it was a slightly longer bearing carrier and a small weld inside the fork on each side, where it contacts the bearing carrier. I possibly could have put a washer under the pivot instead of the weld. This means I did get to driv...

I haven't managed to test again yet. The gearbox is in, just a few more bolts to do up, then drop it on the ground and test.

It *seems* to be travelling ok, but guess I won't know until I get it spinning properly.

Re: a15 rear engine plate

Sounds like you need to remove the backing plate and run the lower dust cover as the A12 flywheel is thinner than A15. Just been through this with an A12 fly on my A15 with 63a box. Thanks - I don't have the lower dust cover, so what I have done is: 1. Found another bearing carrier which is about 2...

No I haven't - I plan to strip it on the weekend, but wanted to have any possible parts on the ready so I don't have to wait another week :)

Re: a15 rear engine plate

Thanks for the replies That video is showing that the fork is moving as it can. (Any further and it would hit the end of the fork slot in the bellhousing) so maybe a carrier with more offset might fix it? or perhaps extra packing behind the bearing itself? I know Brendan once experimented with extra...

Re: a15 rear engine plate

Hey Bart, Thanks for helping. I actually don't know the origin of the setup. When I bought it I didn't realise there was a difference and as it is now a few years ago can't remember. I purchased it as a complete 5speed with the hydraulic clutch setup and trust bearing in place. I have no reason to b...

Re: a15 rear engine plate

Hi All, Further to the previous post, I tried putting the car in gear with the engine running the other day, and with the clutch pedal right in, I couldn't get it to disengage (so gears would grind). Not sure if this is due to use of a backing plate and I need a long bearing carrier, but hoping some...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

Is the TB before or after the super charger? IMHO, Before the blower is best. If you wanna run it after the blower, run a micro switch to trigger the charger once the throttle reaches the off idle position. Otheriwse you close your TB, and the pump will blow your intercooler piping off. Throttle bo...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

you are still supercharging it aye? Yep - definitely. The setup is ready to go together, I just need to get some supercharger oil and figure out how to switch the clutch with roughly a three second delay so it turns off at idle but doesn't turn off when changing gears. But it all bolts together etc...

Thanks kitch. Your build was a massive inspiration and mine is no where near yours! Will keep ironing out the bugs until I can send a pic of the car driving.
