Was thinking along those lines the other day but going the other way. My brother does a run on bikes that is a 1000k day. leaves chch and goes to the coast up to nelson across to blenheim then back to chch. Hell mish but would be a good weekend run maybe..................................so many poss...

Geraldine or fairlie if not wanting to go to far. Or pleasant point (steam train). Road between geraldine and fairlie is pretty good if I remember rightly.

The inland kaikoura road is quite a good drive (well it was when it was closed due to slips and flooding and I snuck around the road closed sign in the mighty ute on the way to Picton). Even a trip to the coast would be pretty good. Any events on that may be worth going to if we are going to make a ...
