Re: Yanky 620

Yeah still chipping away. Shifted into a new place a few years ago and unfortunately it's only got a single garage which limits what I can do. That being said, I've re-built the heater core and fan unit, also had the radiator refurbished. Renos are done now and the plan is to get the engine fired th...

Re: Yanky 620

The top coat is Dinitrol 447. Not to sure how it will hold up but at least it looks better than the Grand Canyon that was on there previously.

Re: Yanky 620

Long time between drinks on this one. Still chipping away but very slowly. Completed the dash board restoration earlier in the year. I think it came out alright. https://i.imgur.com/2JGamsZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/UpBidTL.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6yTHD6E.jpg https://i.imgur.com/8M2bot7.jpg https://i....

Re: Yanky 620

Its been a while. Due to a change in jobs and me having to get the truck out of the old work place and back home, I've been very limited as to what I can work on. The dash was severely cracked so I decided to tackle it by widening the cracks and filling it with flexible filler. The metal backing als...

WTB 620 Left Side Door

Hi all, I'm trying to hunt down a left hand door for my 620 build. Needs to be in reasonably good condition. Ideally in the North Island.
Regards
Sam.

Re: Yanky 620

UPDATE: Engine has been re-assembled and mated to the transmission. Big thanks to Sanil to letting me borrow his hoist. I'm off to a new job closer to home meaning i have to shift the truck out of this awesome workshop. Cab and tray have been temporarily fitted back onto the chassis for transport. W...

Re: Yanky 620

A big thanks to Scott for sending me through a few photos of the old girl from when he owned it. Pretty cool seeing all of these photos of how she use to look. Wish it still had the canopy !! I'll be looking for a new left hand side door next year (the red one) if anyone has one in good nick floatin...

Re: Yanky 620

Hopefully the paint stays on there once it heats up haha. The issue I'm having is primarily with the oil pump. I align the mark on the spindle with the mark on the oil pump and every time I install it the spindle top is at a 3 o'clock / 9 o'clock position instead of the 11:26 position it should be. ...

Re: Yanky 620

Motor stripped down, tested and painted. Re-assembly underway. Struggling a little bit with getting the timing right but we'll get there. https://i.imgur.com/K3ikC2L.jpg https://i.imgur.com/a2YNnvB.jpg https://i.imgur.com/r7W0dHy.jpg https://i.imgur.com/aKny66p.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Tj6wA3j.jpg ht...

Re: Yanky 620

Haha in an ideal world I would have already gone with an SR20 but I'm running low on time and $$. Rebuilding the L20 should be a good starting point for my first engine rebuild. I've got the service manuals so what could go wrong :)
