I hooked up an aftermarket guage on my A series. (VDO electrical) It wasn't hard, but I did have to have a custom adapter made on account of the datsun sender being held into the motor in an unconventional means. I could get you an adapter made up to suit yours if you need?

I dunno if you can buy them or not. I had one custom made, and I'm 99% sure that the drawing for it is still around somewhere. If so I could probably get one made for you. I just didn't trust my factory gauge enough given that it's not calibrated with degrees C on it.

You need the sender to match the guage. If you don't have the sender, you'll need to take the gauge to parots in st asaph st. Kinda opposite RJP panel beating supplies/duke st. Once you have the correct sender, then you can look at adapting the sedner to you motor. A bloke I know in aussie drills and taps the head to fit them, that allows the factory guage to be retained also if you so desired.

What type is your gauge? because if it is mechanical id throw it away right now.sunny79datto wrote:hey yea iv tryed hooking up one of these temp gauges up but have trouble with the adapters just wondering if anyone on here has hooked one of these up to a A15 before mechanical or electric?
If it is electrical and as Bart says you need the correct sender for it. so unless it is a real good expensive one it isnt worth the hassle of finding a replacement aftermarket sender.
