Two things it sucks spending all my weekends working on the house and yard should be head down in the shed :violin:

The other thing was the look on your old mans face as his head snapped back when you put your foot up it this thing is a weapon :drool:

You'll get there man the time factor makes it more rewarding in the end when ya get to drive the thing! But yeah get stuck into it! will be good to see it done! hahaha yeah the old buzzard was pretty surprised i think

Id love to stash my dad into an old turbcharged beast and show him what a REAL fast car is! Hes always telling stories of his mis-spent youth 'man that thing could fly!'. Not even close!

Hahaha thanks fulla's, theres possibly a bit left in the ignition timing, and maybe something to be gained in the cam separation angle, but we ran out of time saturday night, and i think we're beginning to reach the limits of what the standard ignition system can do. But it hasnt done too badly for a junkyard engine with unknown km's and 3 dyno tunes under the belt.
And my old man also had a miss-spent youth and speaks of many a drag race in the CBD in the 70s against things like a 289 powered triumph spitfire and an escort van with a 400 chev in it (another "man that thing could fly" scenario). As for mother, well she nagged me to let her ride in the 1600 and then hated every second when she did, so never again!

Well, just a note to say after 12 years of ownership, Someone else drove it away yesterday. Was a shame to see it go but it has found an excellent home. Thanks for advice and assistance with components over time to all concerned.
