WTD: S12 CA Crossmember

Looking for an S12 crossmember to suit a CA20/CA18. The one I have won't let me use an SR engine with it.

why can't you use the sr with the ca crossmember? I have two s12 crossmembers, one is fj, other I'm not sure but they look identical. And I think an sr would fit them but not 100% sure as haven't fitted it yet?

The crossmember I currently have I believe is for an FJ, the mounting points are completely different to the CA one.

But I got the car with no engine, and already have an SR20DE, gearbox, driveshaft, loom etc etc sitting there so don't want to buy an FJ... Yet. Also don't want to modify what I have in case one day I decide I want to go FJ.

Is there any chance of a photo of your FJ crossmember?

yep I'll try and get some for you over the weekend. anything in particular you want me to get? from any particular angles or anything?

Just front the front side with a bit of an angle down would be good.

Also can you get a measurement of the distance between engine mount holes.


I just want to verify mine is a FJ crossmember as I have only assumed based on reference photos of crossmembers in vehicles.

do you know Mitch? I got one of them off Mitch with an fj I got off him, so I assume it is fj. The other I'm not sure I thought it might be CA, I think I bought it off nzeder but can't remember exactly. Do you still want some measurements?

If you want to know about S12 stuff there is a guy on this forum called Vegie, he doesn't post on here much but he's a good fella and I would think he could tell you just about anything you wanted to know about S12s. he has a very nice FJ20ET silvia. Maybe give him a shout if you need info.
