Personally id use your original plate if you have one.
Plus you should tag this into your project thread rather than clutter the forum with several topics on the one car.

Iv found a place in auckland im going to use. Itl be getting done in 2 weeks. Then wel start the rust repairs

top man nothink wrong with a 13b and im wit dattochris with black plates if u hav them.
but p plate r still cool I spent ages lookn for one for my rota datsun cos i didnt hav the original ones

I have one of the black plates that il keep as a monento but its been de regd and the other plates missing. Im planning on getting "BRAPSN" .

Whys evere so against rotars? I like rotars... And everything else, maybe because a tiny n/a 1300 can kick an sr's ass ? Hmmmm

If you are going to make quotes like the above, on a site devoted to vehicles of the family to which said "Sr" and "RB" engines belong, then people will assume you have a sense of humour and will rib you in a similar manner. Or go QR or something more modern.
Folks often get a bit precious no mater what the breed of car if you go playing away from home. I question the value of different, which has been done, over buying someone else's kit and fitting it, car is running within 6 months, instead of what can turn into 6 years. There are some pretty impressive builds on here from some much more capable people than I, who have made great progress and their conversions have taken years, everything you do just takes time.
My 2 cents worth, bear in mind I run a STD car and the most adventurous I have got is fitting an a14 and 5 speed into a 120y, although that was pretty radical in the day. (We did also fit an Essex V6 into a Capri), but pretty factory mods.
