Its not a 63a. They have a smooth bell housing. And the casting numbers are on the body, not the bell housingbroke wrote: they will have 71B or 63A on the casting on the bell housing usually.

You would ruin the 1200 if you stuck a fj init

Fjs are fine. But have you ever seen one in the hole of a 1200? They're a big motor

I love the FJs, Th only way it would ruin a 1200 though is through the massive shift in weight distribution. Mae the little thing so front heavy it will sledge into corners at speed. Thats just at a guess though. Ether way one of the cars needs that FJ with webbers in it!

Re: Another project? R30 rs
well i was going to put sr in the 1200 and theirs a 13kg difference in the weight between fj and sr
only reason is if i sell my sr stuff i can put that towards building a tough fj20 and im going to have the ute for ever and may sell the skyline when the utes done so might be a waste of a fj in the skyline
also if i kept the skyline having such a big engine bay id maybe look at a v8 and i can put my stumpy box behind the diesel and have it a manual

fj into 1200 sounds perfect! as you say its only 13kg heavier then an sr...havent really had a chance to slam my 1200 with sr into any corners but it all seems to handle it pretty well...

That's classic overheating right there.
The piston has expanded too much, and forced all the oil out, causing that unsightly damage.
