Will possibly be coming to Hanmer, I've got a fair bit on at the moment but will see how I go.

Vaughn, I decided to try and just swap the brakes over on the front to single piston calipers to make it look at bit more factory but left it 5 stud. Do you want those wheels back? I started stripping the paint off the black one.

Bought some more tail lights that hopefully are in a bit better nick that mine, my left hand one was broken before I got it and leaks, I tried to seal it up with some clear sealant but it looks like crap and traps water inside it. I've got one spare facelift HR30 right hand one and I have a feeling the ones on my car aren't technically DR30 ones anyway.

For my throttle bodies I just found a twin carb inlet manifold too which will make the conversion much, much easier! Just need to make a plenum and fuel rail.

Would this work for your Plenum ?

For $150 it sure takes out a lot of the fabrication

Good spotting, that might actually work as the original throttle body angles that way kind of so that plenum might work without changing the intercooler piping too much, it looks pretty wide though and I haven't got a lot of room between the head and strut tower, I'll keep an eye on it.

Something like this. Looks like I'll have around 100 - 120mm for the plenum which isn't a lot. Need to figure out a way of sealing the injectors and either coming up with a way of holding them in or use the fuel rail to do it.

Can you do like the Z31 way of holding the injectors down using the rubber sleeve, circlip and hold down bracket ?

Like these ones http://www.redz31.net/images/fuel/jwt1.JPG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

small picture but you can see what i mean

Well if it's not one thing it's another, looks like the water pump started to leak today, the telltale hole is on the top and looks pretty dry so it's possibly the gasket, I'm half way through getting it off which is actually a pretty easy job on an FJ! Not having a viscous fan in the way helps a lot.

I couldn't pin point the leak but changed the pump anyway, the one that came off was an Atsugi one so possibly original, the gasket was quite soft so it might have been leaking from there. The L series pumps and FJ pumps are basically the same apart from one bolt hole being smaller on the L pump, Repco actually list the L series pump for the FJ. I just drilled out the hole.

Had a bit more of a look at the throttle bodies, the plenum from the old 3.1L motor is so close to fitting, I would just have to cut one pair of flanges off and either slot or rotate very slightly one of the other pairs, this might be a good temporary fix. I think the injectors will seal with just an o ring, there is a step where the injectors sit that I think if I put an o ring in then bolt the injectors down hard it should seal.

The throttle bodies sit a lot lower than the factory plenum, I think I'm not going to have a lot of room at all for a plenum due to the brake lines.

This is how close the plenum is to fitting, it's upside down so I'd have to cap off the other end.
