nzdatman Please do it as it is clearly a weak point that needs to be highlighted ;) .
Poor old Peter has not long left for this world, I hope the next treats him better. :( :(
Peters actual injury was first thought that he'd hit the pole or cage but actually the damage was caused by the shaking effect as his head did not suffer impact damage as such, witch I'd organically thought his head had hit something.

At 6 - 700kg these things weigh nothing and exactly like Bart says they fold up real quick as you can see 6" either way things may have been different.
Honestly we were not going that fast and if you saw the pole we hit, everyone is wondering how the fuk could we hit that as it stands 40 odd meters away from the Apex of the corner and we just drifted sideways straight into it, it's got me baffled.
This is my 4th sedan and generally when they go they tend to spin out, this one is the first I have ever crashed, but in my younger days of grassing hooning and a couple of other spin outs have given me a bit of an idea of what they do. so in the back of my mind I believe something may have moved or given way.
Coupes I have had 4 maybe 5 two have been written off, one crashed into by a idiot that decided to pass me while I was turning into a car park. The other was a production saloon that I rolled 5x got bounced between a HQ and Torana whilst trying to pass the HQ who was in first place, Basted that was caged to but also fuked after the crash.
Also had a couple of sunnys but don't rate them much.

Mum and Dad are heading down to be with us tomorrow, The Car is being dropped off tomorrow and the plan is to measure up and do a few checks before stripping it.

I am reading this correctly- did your co driver actually pass away due to the injuries suffered in that accident?
I lost a friend last year in a similar sort of accident at the Hanmer rally down here- just 6 inches in either direction and he probably would still be with us now.
My thoughts are with you Logan, stay strong.
Cheers

Thanks Guys
Its a very tough time as I try to work through it.
The car is now cut up in a zillion bits and off to the scrappy's tomorrow, we found a few strange things that may or may not have happened during the accident
It has a bent (bananaed) diff, the two front caster rods were a different length, one rear shock was completely dead and a few other weird bits and bobs.
