Looking at doing something like this off the oil pump .... any reason not to?

I did this for the oil supply line to the turbo on a draw through setup I did on an A series.

I had one on my A Series Rally car, the fitting fractured after using it for a season, with the weight of an oil sender it flexes it too much. The engine was well balanced and very smooth, although it did sing high in the revs lot.
On my Race car I have a thin Hydraulic line from the pump and have mounted the sensor and oil lint on the inner guard.
