my project (datsun 1200 race/rally car)

Post by kobyn »

Went to my dyno man last Thursday didn't go so well he tells me my front rotor is down on compression 30/30/80 and only managed 150hp atw ,so with a seal sprint on Sunday we whip motor out to inspect front rotor that night and found nothing broken so really only could b sticking/stuck apex ,so gave apex groove edges a lil clean up with some wet 600 clean all the carbon up and back in car by 11pm sat night ,with compression back on both rotors we decide to go to seal sprint on Sunday and test it out ,unfortunately 3/4 way threw 1st run motor decides to drop compression on front rotor again ,a bit lost as to where I go from here cbf pulling the thing apart I've herd of people squirting brake fluid in to free up apex seals might read some rotary forums and look in that

Might be time to think about putting an a15 twin carb or similar datsun na back in. You always seem to be having trouble with the rotator thingamee bob. Even an sr20 na would be more reliable. Come and have a drive in the blue 1600 and I'm sure you'll be impressed.

Hahaha if I was to build another rallycar maybe, but to b fair iv had a good run with my rotor 9 years that motor took a beating without any problems,it's only been the last 2years of me trying to take short cuts !!! Valuable lessons have been learnt tho (jst pay someone who knws what they are doing)

That's one way to get things right. NA is another with Pistons going up and down, not round and round.
