Managed to get quite a few small things done on this, mainly reassembling the interior and test driving, had to make a new shim for the adjusting bolt in the steering box. also the retaining clip that holds the shifting assembly in place was stuffed so that's been replaced. Painted some engine bits as they were starting to corrode. sorted some new guards and got them to welly thanks to cazza from here, dropped them to the acid dippers today. Looks like the well side should be here next month along with tail lights and new valance.

Tried getting some more done on this last night.

Got some rust cut out but discover more which i guess isn't a bad thing. Got one of the guys at work to make a patch while a couple of us bled the brakes and tried to balance them.

It still pulls to the right so will adjust once more then investigate a bit more if that doesn't fix the problem.

replaced castle nuts and split pins on the steering linkages.

Image

Cut and replaced tail pipe as it was next to non-existent. yet to chop it to length

jm2658 wrote:Nice truck man. I had a rg 620 for years. The SD 22 isn't a bad engine really considering what it is. Still does a good burnout... I found some of the fiberglass panels difficult to make the lines meet up so I've stuck with repairing the original panels since then. There's a guy on trademe that makes carpet to fit for a good price. I've recently got some nice black ones. Looks wicked. Good luck with your truck. I've got a gn 620 now.
Cheers mate! haha im surprised, in saying that i took it for its for proper drive and the diesel was a bit more grunty than i originally thought. Yeah ive decided not to go fiberglass and have got some steel panels that are in good condition, also getting a valance panel from Thailand.,

Any idea who the guy on trademe is? i haven't seen an auction for carpet before.

Any other tips or issues you had with the truck or info you think is useful?

It's different, thats for sure.
I'm not really sure if it's better or worse. My wellside is so rugged, It's hard to compare.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

it still follows the same lines and with some wide wheels and a bit of low it could look quite good. i dont mind the lights as its a common ute look i guess.

I like the top of the Well Side, I think the Pumped Guards look later model and dare I say it Toyota, shame they were not in keeping with the style of the front ones.
I think with Low it would look Sick.

Actually you are quite right, also as someone said on the Oldschool forums it looks like a big b110 ute with the tail lights like that. Still deciding on what to do. this will mean i can run bigger wheels with lots of low which i like the idea of.
