p510 1600 // rubber kits

Post by drjkyl »

Hi all,

Happy NY & hope Santa was good to everyone!

sorry if this has been covered, tried a search but not much luck.

Can anyone recommend a shop with good rubber kits? e.g. rubbers around the doors

need the rubber to do the final alignment before paint.

Thanks in advance,
DRJKYL

I bought mine form Datsport in Australia.
But you can buy other product from eBay, or Rarespares etc

A word of warning; Apologies if this has been covered before but I would hate to see anyone caught out. I bought rubber from Rare Spares while in Australia. I then found the Australian made 510's had windscreen rubbers and trim as part of their Australian content. These are the same style as 70's Holdens with a channel rather than the single slot like NZ and Japanese 510's. If buying windscreen rubbers from Australian suppliers I understand the ones to order are either sss or 68 model as neither where Australian assembled. Fortunately I discovered the situation while still in Australia however using an NZ credit card meant the bank took a cut on my purchase and again on my refund.
70 510 rally car rebuilt and prepared as a classic race car
68 510 sss, retired rally car, currently a bare shell being restored
72 510 sss, awaiting restoration
72 510 sss, retired race car back on the road sold to my son

The one from Datsport (in Australia) has the channel for inserting the windscreen trim.
