Wanting to borrow: Right Angle Drill

Post by Datto_610 »

Does anyone in the chch area have a right angle drill I could borrow?? Air powered or battery/240v just need something to screw two screws right up on the side of my gearbox tunnel on the underside of the car. Really don't want to take the gearbox out!

Can you do what I did. I drilled holes through from interior side, inserted an M4 bolt through put a nut on the trans tunnel side to lock it in place and left enough thread to attach a bracket and then locked that with a nylock. Basically creating a stud to bolt the bracket to.

Hmmmm maybe.... it's just trying to find where to drill on the inside without drilling through the hardline!

How far from your Gear shift hole or other reference point, bit of measuring and luck and you should be right.
Another way I have done it to mark where it goes is use a right angle bar to lever a mark into the tunnel, that could then be centre punched from inside the car.... Follow Wal's suggestion,
