people have generally had enough of Hanmer after being there for more than 2 hours, I know I have, lol. So I vote for keeping it a single day trip and party up in Christchurch

I don't care for staying the night either.

sweet bix, looks like we getting a good response so far, it will be cheap as chips for all who want to stay and party, ill check out accomodation and get back to ya all

we could always do both have piss up in Hanmer and those that wish not to stay the night can have a piss up in Christchurch.

im liking this idea. nothing beats a nice cold beer after a good days driving, count me in

id be down for a party in a random cabin in the middle of nowhere with a sweet view, then a hot cooked breakfast and another dip in the pools before leaving the next day.

i'm down. i like the idea of staying for a piss up there so no one has to be sober driver
