With the car now looking a bit rugged with giant holes in it, and the wallet still recovering, I figured it was time to get it rolling again so it at least it looked like a car again. After much debate and research into front suspension upgrades i decided that i was going to keep the stock struts, get some good inserts and have a coilover kit made, as the car is never going to be conering at a great rate of knots i figured this was the way to go. So i heard that endeavour engineering in tauranga sold them and having dealt with Allen before i contacted him and he was more than helpful and within a few days i had these
coilover sleeves.jpg
They are awesome! They come anodised and really look the part
So now i had these i needed some springs so i got so eibach 250lb 8" springs and dummied them up on the strut complete with new gas inserts from kyb (i think)

At this stage the springs hadnt arrived.

While in the front strut area it seemed logical to upgrade the brakes to, after buying some adapters to fit s13 silvia discs and having the hubs machined down to suit it dawned on me that if s13 brakes fit then 4 pot gtst brakes must. With a little modification to the caliper they do!
While all the front was out i also sandblasted and re painted all the other suspension components other than the struts because a ride height hasnt been decided yet, and fitted new nolathanes everywhere. Now what to do in the rear.....................?

The rear end was a no brainer really, after seeing my mates ke35 with a serious lexus v8 and a big shot of nitrous do 9s and other people around the place doing similar things the decision was made to go hilux lsd.

So one was purchased minus diff head for a song and another friend of mine happens to be a machinist so he was given the task of shortening the diff housing and axles and recutting the splines. We kept the diff standard 1200 width. With some custom bottom plates and u bolts The rear end was put back in with new nolathane bushes. The leaf springs still need to be beefed up and reset but will get to that when all the weight is in the vehicle and we know the ride height with hoosiers etc We will also be added a traction device, more about that later!!

Now it rolls!!

Next up i purchased a alloy rx3 style radiator and mounted it to the intercooler and mounted the complete assembley leaving enough room underneath it for the oil cooler.
rad and cooler.jpg
I decided that i didnt want to be able to see the intercooler and radiator so a frame was was made to take this..................
streetfilth.jpg
The name streetfilth came from a joke between avon and myself relating to the virgin mary and im sure if hes reading this he will crack up
Mounted in the car it will look great. Im going to get it polished and the lettering filled with black paint.

Thanks, Not planning on tubbing it as such maybe just "stretching" the rear guards to accomodate 15x8s which should be fairly easy, hopefully an 8in Hoosier will give me enough traction at the strip, im not overly worried about it on the road to be honest as i shouldnt be able to use anywhere near all of its grunt with the high stall torque converter etc. And if i can.......................................oh well
A good mate of mine down here builds rotarys as a sideline and has done so for years with good results so hes going to do it for me. We are aiming for 400kws to start with but if the motor and turbo and everything else allows us to do more then it would be rude not too. But the main aim to start with is 400kws and 9sec quarters

Might give you some inspiration
If I can get 13.4 on street tyres with full interior and 205rwhp im sure you'll be doing better than 9's with slicks lol
