The CA18DE or CA18DET ECU is what you want to use. A member called kiwi510 did the conversion on a Z18ET he had in a 1600. It isn't just plug in and go by any means. I believe they mounted the CAS on the dizzy to sort the timing and ran the individual coil packs from the CA18 and the AFM. If you do a search for his build thread you should be able to find out the information. The CA18DE/T ECUs can be tuneable unlike the CA18ET ECU which I think are similar in a lot of ways to the Z18ET ecu (not sure about this).

if you want a bigger turbo that bolts straight on, you can go for a rb20det turbo, or a little bit bigger (and better) a rb25det turbo. both bolt straight on. but if you put either of them on, you have to change the factory piping from the turbo to fit the skyline turbo's J pipe. so you may as well put on a intercooler at the same time, then it'll be a bit safer if your winding up the boost. feel free to wind up the boost a bit for some trialing.... IF you connected up the factory knock control unit. because then if she starts knocking it will just retard the timing.. but i wouldn't wind it up too much.. i've read a few places that 15psi is achievable on a standard z18.. but i wouldn't want you to find out differently!
also a good mod is to change that horrible standard throttle body! changing it for a CA18det item or similar would be good as gold i'm sure!
