you can cut the outer bearing off with a grinder, then grind the inner about 50-75% through and heat it with the oxy on the thin spot, when its cherry red(not melting yellow/white hot), chuck a cup of water on it and it will crack open

Hey guys,

Been calling around bnt and Auckland bearings but no one has listings for the bearings and collars and can't cross reference the oem number for the collar.

From some of the googling I've been doing it looks like the Datsun 1200 kits may be the same, but again nobody had listings for 1200 kits. Where have you guys got kits for your 1200's from in the past? Any body got part numbers?

Not Apco yet, but did try Repco, who seem to work off the same product as Apco. I'll try Nissan tomorrow as well

Most of repco staff are too shit to know what they are talking about. Apco supply repco and are way more intelligent

Looks like Nissan may be able to get some of them ex Japan. Seems really hit and miss who you talk to there. I found a really helpful chap, where in the past they didn't want to know. Looks like they will cost a mint though. $240 for two bearings, two collars and two seals. Then there are still other seals etc I need. I may try to get them from a site in the US I found. Looks like they'd cost $160 NZ for the above plus an extra pair of seals. Just need to find someone in the states to ship to as they don't ship to NZ

Did you try Saeco? They supply most of the bearings and kits to Repco/Appco.

If you have the bearing numbers and dimensions it'll probably be easier, I can't really see them being anything that odd.

Bearings shouldn't cost that much! You sould be able to have new lock rings made from scratch cheaper too.
Given the vintage of you car, (Old!) It's possible that your bearings etc aren't a standard item. I know that the axle bearings for my roadstar axles were a tiny bit odd, but not too hard to find.
do you have the numbers off your bearings? I have a mate who works in bearings.
From memory my bearings were only around $40 each. Do you have access to a micrometer? I'm sure we mcould get rings made for you too. vernier calipers will be fine for the od, and the length. But I wouldn't trust their accuracy for the fitement on the axle. Having the right amount of interference is the difference between being too tight to go on, and coming off when you least want it.

Right now I am working off these part numbers:

43215-08000 for bearing #43084-10600 for collar ,the axle #
38164-10600, seal #
38212-04101/43068-04101

I found them on the old datsun yahoo site so they may not be 100% accurate.

I am trying to get all the correct numbers from Nissan now.

That is possibly not all the parts though, as the guy from Nissan sent this through which shows quite a few seals and spacers

Can you see any numbers on the bearing itself? I don't think genuine numbers will be much use to most people.
