People import cars from japan all the time.
You just need to find a car you like, and then find a broker type outfit to send it out here for you.
Dattohoarder bought in an R32 GTR skidder a few years ago. He doesn't post much though.

they are expensive but they are well sort after and wont lose their value. as for the lack of any here in new zealand driving up the price. i dont think that will be the case. what its worth in japan should be about what one is worth here
