Ive had a look at the Interislander crossing times, there is 8pm, 2am and 8am, thats departing time, that would suit

there is also bluebridge, which is priced about the same, but has a free movie, cant see why we wouldnt get there for the 8pm sailing if we were to leave early, tauranga to picton about 8hrs? so probably same for hamilton.atchernv wrote:Ive had a look at the Interislander crossing times, there is 8pm, 2am and 8am, thats departing time, that would suit
of course we could knock a couple of hours off this as we will be in DATSUNS yeah.
Im planning on heading over the kaimais and taking the path less traveled through to tokaroa, come out onto state highway one where it intersects 5, a quick meet up in tokaroa then through to Taupo to meet others?
maybe best if people post where there closest (or best) meeting point is along highway one and we will make these the breif stopping points etc.
eg tokaroa for me to meet mark105 then onto taupo to meet Chris-g1 then onto wherever to meet whoever. (just an example)

8pm ferry should be easily achievable. if we miss it we can just roll the later one anyways.
ferry is about 3 hours i think to cross and id say allow about 7 hours from hamilton to wellington as we will be stopping and the likes. should land us in picton about 11pm so might have to plan in advance some where to sleep as most accommodation offices would be closed about then.
sounds like a plan re convoy.

This is a convoy coming down to the Datsun Nationals at Labour weekend in Christchurch. The weekend starts with the Track Day/night at Ruapuna Raceway on Friday the 19th of October from 5 pm. Over the weekend there are many activities planned to get involved in and meet many of the awesome people in the Datsun scene, checking out their rides and generally having a great time. The Sunday is set aside for the legendary Akaroa cruise, awesome roads and 50+ Datsuns cruising, the best day out ever!

Hello Fellow NZDATSUN.COM Users,
This is a reminder about the NZDATSUN Nationals - held over labour weekend in October this year.
This year will be bigger than ever with a Track-day on Friday evening, other plans taking shape for Saturday (and also the AGM and Dinner Saturday night). Sunday is the main event with the Akaroa Cruise for the day - a great drive in any car, even better in a Datsun.
Get involved - the Committee and others are working hard to get things finalized for this and will appreciate any help with various things over the weekend.
Pm me if you want or need any more info and also below are the links to the various events.
Make sure you have posted in the threads so we can work out numbers etc too.
Trackday / night.

Can always sleep on the boat as someone pointed out earlier.
Bluebridge reckon their 845pm sailing is "freight only" with "limited room" for passengers with vehicles.
http://www.bluebridge.co.nz/cook-strait ... timetable/
Actually looking at the Interislander again the late/early sailings for 18-19th are getting booked out so may be a good idea to book ahead
Either way Im flexible with whatever crossing time the bulk of you guys are taking, just to be part of the convoy action

I see in the latest classic car magazine that the cortina club are hosting a nationals in chch as well that same weekend, so that may account for the ferry bookings,
