Ok Mark got the measurements for you
Sorry I didn't have any time to make a nice AutoCAD drawings , I hope my sketch helps.

Cheers heaps for those. Still not 100% decided on what to do to fix this situation. Trying to find even a cheap r200 of any kind to rob bits from is like pushing shit up hill.

I should have asked, what other stuff do you need? I've got some bits and pieces around from when I put my LSD in, I think the original centre out of the long nose and some of the bits from the short nose diff.

i just need stubs, the diff is all assembled and sweet as in the car, all it needs is some way of getting power to the wheels haha.
looking at modifying where the circlip groove is on the current universal stubs as there is meat there to move the grooves closer to the ends so they work only problem i am having working it out is what should stop the stub from going further into the diff as at current i think my universal stubs are hitting the oil seal which means if thats whats stopping them and not one of the sholders on the stub it is just going to munch the oil seal and make moving the oil seal a waste of time.

so should have done more research on nismo lsd's before buying one it seems. as if you buy a new lsd you get all this.
those stubs are what i need which Dan had and was selling but i turned them down as my diff is setup with the nugget of set and therefore the even length stubs were to short on the long side. but its not supposed to be setup off set and that nismo kit comes with everything to set the diff up centred. so now all im left with is finding some spline material so i can make custom stubs to suit as finding all the gear to set the nugget up in the middle is likely going to be a harder task. wishing i had just brought a whole nismo lsd in a housing now and bit the bullet with shipping instead of picking the lighter to ship option.
So DJZ if you still have that single stub and it is 29 spline i would be keen on it for spline material.

Been collecting bits for my r200 conversion hopefully can get it in and find out which of these bits are spares
Are there any parts in the four shafts on the right you need , i think i have the bits i need on the left. Any tips?

Can you not obtain another long side and have it machined down to suit ?
When i did Dan1200SSS diff he had one stub that was machined down, one stub was left alone
I banged them in, and it just seemed easy.
The "Centering" of the diff you speak about is from the 8.00 or 8.05mm spacer that sits on the side bearing
Short nose runs this spacer on the RHS of the case
Long nose Runs this spacer on the LHS of the case
The length/offset of your stub axles should only be out by this 8mm right ?
or am I totally not with it today ??

the problem with the current stubs is they have the taper down on the end which as you can see the nismo ones dont have and because of this taper there is not enough meat left on the end of the stubs to move the circlip grove to the about 5mm from the end of the stub like they need to be. plus i want to add some material so the dust covers arent grinding up against the seals due to the stubs going right the way in.
so what i intend on doing is machining off the taper and adding a bit of spline material to the end of the current stubs which i can square off and put a circlip groove in. i am just going to tap the soft inner to the current stubs and attach the extra bit by countersunk screw and locktite on as it takes no load its just to hold the circlip.
the measurements you gave back a bit, those stubs would not work either as they measure up exactly the same as my current stubs. the reason you have to move the circlip groove is there is no where on the nismo unit for the ciclip to lock in mid spline like standard ones. the circlip locks the stubs in by going past the spline and locking in where the spline runs out, where standard there is a groove mid spline for the circlip to sit.
and yeah the difference is about 8mm between the stubs from long to short but both stubs are to short by the same amount due to the taper.

Aha
Got you now, post up measurements, drawings when you are finished.
