I pulled down my motor and its a honey.its currently at the engine builders getting a acid dip, Block and head CC'ed and checked for compression ratio then block skimmed.He is going to give it a hone and order new bearings, rings, gasket set oil pump all for about $450.
Im hoping to get it back in about a week so i can get it back together.

haha yeh sound like it is gunna be a massive weekend.Its a long way to come in a car with no carpets stereo heater and is really loud.Ill have to wear my earmuffs for 12 hours straight better still i could get a pair of earmuffs with a built in radio and i would kill two birds with one stone

or just stick an Ipod on under your muffs.
last years most dedicated winner only drove from Oamaru in a race car. You'd be a strong contender coming all that way.

Spoke to engine builder today and the engine has been machined.Rung adrian from Franklin cams today and he got all the info from my head and worked out that I can get what they call there stage 6 cam grind which he said willl be really good for mid to top end power.I thought it was quite reasonbly priced at $150 and im using the L20b cam which is apparently the one to use.
