EPIC SKIDS, what else?Bartman wrote:It would be a total pig. It would have no traction, so very little of the power would be useable. And it would be hard to stop, and going around corners would be a nightmare. It would sound cool, and you'd have bragging rights. But otherwise why would you bother?

I have a spare ute with live plates with a rusty back end and I may have a few ideas for it, this could be one of them. Would definitely need some strengthening though

Re: Right so who's going to be the first to do it
Had a quick flick through google book and the lightest weight I found was 210kg which seems more like it, 160 sounds way too light for a v8, maybe 160 without manifolds.

hardest bit would be finding a relatively cheap transaxle that would explode at the first sign of a v8!
On the subject of transaxles has anyone noticed how FWD audi's still have their motors north south like a RWD car

Yeah WRX box might work but I think they'd still get nervous but atleast you'd have a better chance of finding an LSD. Porsche box would work but fuck me they'd be expensive.
Maybe an audi box out of an A6 with the v6's or a diesel one. But you'd never get an LSD one.
WRX is probably the pick for cost vs availability vs stength vs LSD
