We are a group of car enthusiasts called Legal Diesels Incorporated. Our soul purpose is to build a venue to cater for the drift and burnout car culture in Christchurch.
Legal diesels? Your going to make a burnout pad in ruapuna where residents are fed up with the noise during the day, let alone at night time, which is where the problem is? Most of the "street drift cars" have screamer pipes (illegally etc) which are over the noise limit at ruapuna anyway, so I dont see how the council would even help you out? Not to mock you or anything but I just dont see it working... it would be very nice to have a skid pad dont get me wrong, I just dont see how a council that is so anti-boyracer is going to support something that entices doing skids on or off public roads.

Wel to answer some of ya Qs? The venue is going to be built in a Motorsport Zone but it may or may not be Ruapuna.
In December road cars will have to be alot quieter because of the new laws as we intend to have reg and wof cars only unless its been prior arranged.
The Council has just spent 10 Mil or something crazy on buying out those properties around that immediate area.
Working with the Council just means complying to their requests and asking for them to help back us up!
We just want to do it legally at the end of the day!
This facility will come to fruition cause its not just going to be used for burnouts drift school driving school go carts motorbike courses all sorts of users would wanna use this. And this is just the business hours. Its in a motorsport zone it wont be nearly as loud as some of the track cars are!
If they support what we are doing then that obviously makes it alot easier with them telling us ways to do things that comply with their rules. Well kinda
Hope this is helpful?

Good luck. BUT, this thing has been discussed and debated since the days when it was zyphers and sidevalve ford V8's that were the hoons' weapon of choice. So I'm not going to hold my breath.
That being said, IF there is a legal place to act up and have some fun, (Without hurting anyone) then I have no nproblem with the law enforcement being extremely harsh on those who do break the law.
It grates me that no matter how much money the PBDRC spends on the facility at Ruapuna, they can never have more than one meeting per month. If there was a purpose built facility for drag racing, and even 10% of the hoons came along and particiapted the whole thing could be self sustaining.
