So I thought I would treat myself to a new exhaust seeing the old one was out and made of several bits and pieces. Have collected the bits over the last couple of weeks and finished bolting it in today and was able to give the motor a bit of a run. Unfortunately something let go in the bell housing and it started dumping water on the ground. I guess there must be a frost plug in there maybe? Looks like either the gearbox or motor is going to have to come out, yay! :deadhorse:

There is a frost plug in the back of the head, and in the block too I think.
Check it's not the heater hose on the back of the head before you go pulling it all apart though.

Yeah it seems to be leaking inside the bell housing but good call I will double check because pulling apart something that doesn't need doing is normal round here

Pulled the gearbox out today and replaced the frost plug behind the flywheel, tried to replace the one above in the head too but couldn't quite get to it so had to leave it in. I'm assumining the other plug behind the flywheel is just a cap for the camshaft and shouldn't be a problem. Got everything back together and gave it a run, no more leaks! :D

You assume correctly.
I had a shit of a time getting a plug into the cam tunnel on my last motor.

Been slowly tidying up a few things lately and replacing the broken window on the rear door. Didn't realise the window tracks etc were bent as well so a bit of a mission. Also been putting in a footprint shaped gas pedal- Daaang that's kewl!

Random question- any ideas on how to remove C piller side vent on a president? At a guess I would think it is similar to a 1600, do they have bolts from behind or do they pry off with a screwdriver?
