you mean the drag link?
I'm not sure that the Idler arm end actually rocks like a ball joint?
Every single datsun I have ever owned (and driven on the road) has needed the Idler bushes replacing.
I hope you're coming down at Labour weekend Tony??

This pic here I'm sure it explains better what I am on about....the idler dust bush was non exsistant when I pulled it apart!
what I don't understand is why the dust boot is completely different to the other side????

Yup my goal is Defo Akaroa ... new wheels and brakes and hopefully a few extra beers in me than last time I was down . plus with an orange 16 hundy coming down -> man,, who wouldn't want to follow that backside (Bernie and Chris!)
So the ute is booked in for rust and paint on the 18th August ... I just got to get it to the panel shop

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the confidence. We are working hard to finish the " orange 16 hundy" and are booked on the ferry on the 18th October. We are also keen to see your machine and what you've done to it.
Cheers, Bernie and Chris.

Started engine today and for some reason it dies when I accelerate and every now and then does a backfire when I take foot off the throttle ... Any ideas/solutions?
Haven't had it turned over in about 6 months

With the air cleaner off, look down the top of the carb. If you manually actuate the throttle, do you see a squirt of fuel squirting into the primary carb throat?

Didn't get a chance to sort it as the car at the panel beaters now . Pretty sure its just running on 3 cylinders.

Has anyone converted to a retractable seatbelt in their 1200's before?

Sedan. I have a retractable in my 1200, just bolted it in, no issue. No WOF issues either. How much space do you have at the bottom mount?

what car did you get them out of? I'm pretty sure space will be okay as the seats don't go back too far...but I'm prob wrong (will measure up when ute is back-how much space will I need?) Was thinking seatbelts that are out of a ke35 coupe could work

I had second hand out of a 310. I recommend you get new, but don't buy Britax (I think that is the brand mine is), the mechanism isn't flash. A safety belt supplier will carry ones that will fit. I think Supercheap or Repco carry a range.

Trying to find info on my car ... any body know the paint code/id#? Panel/painter rung up and said he is having trouble matching the colours
