cheers mikewazowski!
today i got the horn going, the windscreen wipers going, the turbo timer and finished all the car wiring apart from the heater! the heater is a bit weired because it only has 2 wires coming out of it.. and if i give it power and earth it doesnt seem to want to go :x so i'll try and look into something on that! tomorrow i will try and get the radiator fully mounted and hopefully get the manifolds on.

Good shit dude! Nice to see another z18!

Couple of questions: What throttle is that? I want/need one and which skyline turbo did you choose?

cheers man! your silv looks pretty rad too man!

hmm the throttle is a ford item, of which i dont know.. but its got some numbers on it that i'll get off it and try to track down what its off, it came already on another manifold but is pretty simple mods to put it on.

also my skyline turbo i brought had some huge shaft play so i just chucked the front cover onto the standard turbo becasue its a bit bigger. and sometime down the line i would like to use a T28 on some extractors! but i just want to get it going at the moment!

a question for you; i read you've put bigger 4pot brakes or something on your s12, did they bolt straight onto the factory struts?

Cheers dude! Yea if you can get some info on the throttle that would be great, dont like the stock twin butterfly too much to be honest!

Nah it wasnt me about 4pots, another dude put rx7 4pots on his datto for which he made brackets to bolt them up. I cheated. I used s13 lower control arms + s13 coilovers + s13 hubs and s13 knuckles. I just have to make a braket for the castor arms so i can use s13 items for that too but otherwise the rest bolts up. The reason i did this was cheap coilovers and cheap brake upgrades!

I wont be running 4pots but the s13 brakes are a bit bigger than the factory turbo brakes that were on there already, but i think i will upgrade to r33 gts25 2pot brakes and 280mm disc. This way i can still run 15s and have good brakes.

I have been comparing the standard turbo to a rb20det and rb25 turbos, once i get the rear cover off the standard turbo I'll post some pics up of the differences :)

yeah the stock throttle looks like a piece of rubbish! i'll try get some onfo on it for you! i have seen people using CA18det throttles too, but i dont think they are as big as 72mm.

oh i see. that sounds like a nice front suspension setup! i would love to run that kind of setup but not sure if it would work with the tie rods ect.
good man! some nice dishes 15's will look sweet on your s12!

sweet i'll be keen to see the pics!

s110 actually :p

Yea thats the only issue i'm having at the moment, is with the tie rods but i am making a bracket at work at some point in the future to replace the factory tie rod brakets so that i can use adjustable s13 items. Just have to talk to my certifier to see if i can do it myself or if he wants some one with "quals" to do it.

ca18 throttles are 52-60mm somewhere around there from memory, which is probably actually enough but 72mm sounds way better :)

oh sorry man, s110 haha!

oh i see, if you change your steering knuckles to s13 items it will change your steering lock eh? is it more or less lock?
man you'll have a sweet fully adjustable front end if you do!
i will check on those numbers tomoro man!

anyway have done a little work over the last couple of days, exhaust manifold is it with oil feed and drain done up, dump pipe done up (i think) one bolt was a reeeeaaaaaal pig! and also have got all the inside wiring pretty much sorted and dash put back in, i just need to work out the flipping heater! also since my universal ignition switch is in the dash (the only place i could mount it without it spinning) i put a fuel pressure gauge in my normal ignition cutout for a bit of a laugh!

Awesome dude, looks really good.

I'm not sure about lock as i havent touched the steering column, but once i've painted the engine bay i can put everything back in and start figuring out the geometry.

Keep up your progress!

cheers man!

sweet as! hopefully your lock stays the same or gets better! because its apparently quite easy for it to go to crap when modifying or changing steering knuckles. but you should be sweet!

also does anyone know if the z18ets here in nz are optical trigger or magnetic?
