Finally managed to get out to the garage tonight and did a little mucking around. I bought some 2mm thick carbon fibre sheet off Aliexpress to make a few little bits and pieces for this thing, the first thing I decided to make is a block off plate for where the AC lines come through the firewall as it's a relatively simple piece.
The white car still has the AC core in where the black car doesn't, so this is what it looks like in place, I'll put some silicone sealant or something similar on it to keep it from rotating and for it to seal up a bit better.

Easy 20hp gain right there.

I was thinking about just replacing the whole body with small off cuts of Chinese carbon fibre glued together.

Seems legit. I can do you a deal on the glue they use to hold BMW's together, after all that's how they repair them now.

I'm not 100% happy with the inlet manifold so I'm going to start again, I've got another NEO inlet manifold that I'm going to cut up the same way and I bought a piece of 1/2" x 90 x 600ish ali from Little Metals to make another flange with, I'm going to keep the outline of the flanges the same as the throttle bodies rather than square like they are now and I'll get someone else to weld it as my skills and the TIG at work aren't quite up to it I think.

Got the staino for the engine mounts today, I think next time I'll try and get them done in 5mm mild steel, the stainless was a lot more expensive that I was expecting and I think 6mm is overkill.

But stainless looks sooo cool, I have pickling paste here if you need some to clean the burn marks after welding.

Finally got around to doing something on this, I borrowed Bart's 115mm angle grinder - mine is only a 100mm but the discs I bought were 115s as I needed the extra depth and cut the plenum off another RB25DE Neo inlet manifold, stuck it in the mill and took quite a bit off it down to about the same height as the other one.
I've got three new flanges that I made and I'm going to get Bart's mate to weld the flanges on as I don't want to go through that again.

I lol. This is so often followed by something else.
He's actually more a guy I know than a mate. He's registered on here too.

Thought I'd try the EVA wing on the boot while I was mucking around in the garage, not sure how to attach it yet, there's nothing on the underside so maybe it's made to be glued on.
