Got a 1.5mm pin punch?? Broke lent me his set but the smallest of his is 2.5mm not quite small enough Started unbolting the gearbox last night, got stuck on one prick of a bolt by the firewall on the drivers side. Spent ages trying all sorts of ways to undo it. My mate is going to weld a 14mm ring spanner to some flatbar or some rod for max leverage.
Re: Datto_610's C31 Laurel Pillarless Sedan
Greg, I used pretty much every 1/2" extension and run it parallel to the gearbox - I know what you mean - I took me a good few hours over a few days to do it, from memory John tried crows feet but was a prick of a position.
All of my extensions, plus a couple of Brocks, and ended up close to the driveshaft yoke, and it finally budged.

Also a good idea is to do two up tight around the culprit bolt - then crack that one first.

Re: Datto_610's C31 Laurel Pillarless Sedan
Woohoo!! John aka Broke came over this afternoon/evening and gave me a hand with getting the last bellhousing bolt. After fluffing about with spanners for a while we did up a couple of the bolts up around it and put heaps of extensions together which totalled about a metre and a half long we got it first crack!! So stoked to get that bolt out, so we kept going and got the slush box out, put the manual sandwhich plate on and torqued up the flywheel I left the spigot bush at home so couldn't go much further but very happy with what got done tonight. So much closer to getting the 5 speed in ready for nationals
