Will keep you posted Kitch, engine is half in at the moment. Not my area of expertise and I don't know much in this department (I'm a techie, not a mechanic/auto sparky :P), so will do my homework :)

Let you know in the next day or so...

Engine Rebuild/Swap Image Dump! **UPDATE #1**

So I guess it's about time to post some progress on my engine build. Pictures tell a thousand words, so this is the beginning of a few image dumps... :) He seemed a bit sad having skimmed my build thread without really any mention, so before I get underway, BIG thanks go out to Damon (Dattodevil/my brother from another mother) for all his work, effort, expertise and experience ;) I have learnt a lot in the last few months from him than in my lifetime about my car, Datun's and general motoring :D What time he has managed to spare to assist me in my build has been more than valuable!

So far things have been done in drips and drabs, regardless, will do a few big picture dumps to catch up, and also have something handy for down the track for quick reference purposes. Here goes...

That's all the image posting for tonight, although more images to dump (it's past my bedtime). A few parts went missing along the way so they were either found, replaced or bought brand new. Things are looking better and better each day for Akaroa. The car won't be immaculate looking by any means, but at least she'll be running sweet and sounding good :) Can't wait!

Braasy, bet you starting to get fizzed now!...
Did you keep standard pistons & hone block, or go with new oversize pistons?
What cam are you running?
You running a higher compression head?
You gonna run side suckers or what?

Bet you cant wait to get the A15 & 5 speed going, believe me when you swap from A12 4 speed, to A15 5 speed, its like going from night to day as far as power and drivability goes!

I hope you have this home in a couple of weeks, when I come up with those other parts, be keen to see all this progress in person.

Fizzed indeed! New oversized pistons, torque grind cam, definitely higher compression, and Dell'Orto's ready and waiting to be stuck on :) (some work may be required prior to sticking them on). Yeah, really looking forward to the difference in driving and drive-ability. I've been told it's a bit of a step up to what I have been used to :P Not too sure if the car will be home when you're up (as still have some panel work and gearbox mount shifting to do), but I guess we'll see!

Cheers for the assistance so far parts wise, look forward to those freak'n mirrors!!!

Man, wish you still had Wilbur. Would have been nice to check out that car! Anywho, more images on rebuild/engine swap to come :)
