So I pulled my engine on Monday as my gearbox was making a rumbling noise. Turns out the bearing were stuffed causing the shafts to move around. I have it mostly back together now just need to grind the shims to set preloads. Also cutting the bottom off the sump to gain a little more ground clearance. A new clutch will go in also as well as tidying up a lot of the leaks it had. Then I want to remake the exhaust

Realized i havnt updated this in a while, So ive had it on the street since putting it back together, Transmission shift far nicer now and no longer has a rumble, The exhaust has been completely remade from headers back now running dual 2.5inch over the diff to get better ground clearance and only exiting on one side now. Took it to the drag strip for the first time a couple of weeks back, the car was great, super reliable all day and nothing broke amazingly. Only issue with it was i couldnt get the power to the ground on street tyres. Best time i ran on the day was 13.7@ 106Mph with wheel spin in first and second. So lots of room to improve just need to find a set of drag radials. Now its back up on axle stands as i took the diff out again. I was having problems with it spinning one Tyre at the strip so turns out the stub axles were not sitting in the diff completely. Once i drained the diff i realized i had a far bigger problem. Are drip trays supposed to be this silver??? Crown wheel bolts decided to backout and carve up the housing, this is where all the metal came from A nice groove left These bolts had spacers around them to allow for the larger holes in the viscous diff, not much left of them now The reason they weren't engaging into the diff was because on my 3.7:1 diff, the head is offset 8mm to one side meaning one axle was bottoming out and the otherone was short so this one i moved the groove to help hold it in And this axle i moved the groove aswell but had to shorten too

Hey Stewart - good to see this project in action. Joined up so I could stalk the progress. Would be awesome to see it at Hanmer if you wanted to join up with an Oldschool meet mid-year. Looks like there's a fairly large overlap of membership here and Oldschool.

So the diff mods worked!! Went drag racing at the motueka aerodrone on the weekend, such a nice atmosphere up there, From the burnout i could tell the lsd was working, Launching it was so much easier, it just wanted to hook up even though i was on street tyres. no wheel spin in second either. I Ran a 13.6 for my first run and as the day went on i consistantly ran 13.5 until the last run where i managed a 13.3 @ 108Mph, i was pretty stoked with that hopefully i can get it into the 12s on slicks. Im very impressed nothing has broken yet considering the guy who welded my axles thought they would break without even needing to launch it. Only had one issue for the weekend and that was my radiator fans wernt going the whole time, fortunately this car never over heats aslong as its moving. Sorry ive been pretty slack on photos with this car lately but there must be heaps somewhere because everytime i park up there are people all over it taking photos.

A couple of things ive done on the car, trying to shape a new front bumper, the factory one looks terrible so im trying something new, in using the lower airdam i already had and will graft it onto the new full bumper, also pulled apart my spare heater box to refoam so i can install it as my current one leaks like a sieze

Dash is all back in, just need a new blower control amplifier. also got real carried away with the new bumper, its definitely lighter than the old one.

Looks better in one color, Also hope to have brought a 3.9 diff for it aswell, should make the car a bit quicker off the line and make 6th gear more usable

Don't worry about the lower diff, just add a Supercharger that will fix it.
