It's an A87 with enlarged ports, a cam (Believed to be a Kelford) and bigger valves (So the old owner told me)
Any way heres some pics

Inlet & Exhaust ports A close up on 1 & 2 cylinders Intake lobe on #3 Exhaust lobe on #2 Stoked it's a 'closed' head Now this is where I'm slightly worried...
If you have a close look at the #2 chamber, there is marks from a bolt being in the in the head.
The old owner is a well respected mechanic, races speedway and used to race a Datsun 1200 powered by a L16 with this head on it, which was in the car when he bought it.
He only removed the head after it dropped a piston, and knew this was the most valuable part of the whole car lol.
The valves are straight as. Makes me wonder if it happened earlier in its life, and the valves were replaced and banged back together.
He said it wasn't a 'lumpy' cam but it was very torquey motor. and never skipped a beat, until the piston dropped.
Is this something I should be very worried about?

The cam markings There are what I believe to be rather curious markings on the back of the head... I found this a little different.. Nissan logo shape with an elephant in it?? WTF?? So whats the verdict? Have I done well for $150?
