Now thats what I call a free flow exhaust ... ;)

Looks like you are just about there Braasy, get all your ancillaries bolted up, finish your rust repairs, then start running up some miles on it.

Are you going to run in on standard carb, then add the sidey's later? if so make sure you have them fitted and tuned up for Akaroa!!!

You have accomplished a lot - be a different car by the time you get it back on the road - bet you are fizzing!...

From one that knows, tidy stock A12 B110's are fun and cute and all, but a bit boring after you have driven them a few times...

Sidies / 5 speed/ decent rims / lowering etc makes them look sweet and a pleasure to drive

Free flow indeed ;) I smelled of exhaust fumes for a good day after that lol

Getting closer...more rust repairs/maintenance, finish mounting gearbox, finish new exhaust system, recondition carbs and source new inlet manifold...it's all go at the Gabba :) Can't wait to get some k's under my belt!

Was going to run a standard carb then add the sidies later, but it wont fit with my new headers, so going straight to twin side carb set up (once matching inlet manifold sourced and carbs reconditioned). Will then be tuned and ready for Akaroa :D

I must say, although I have had the 1200 for about a year now, only in the last few months have things picked up. Keen to get her running and feeling the change up from the tired old A12. Sidies + 5 speed + A15 + rims and lowering are a great modernisation for the old 1200. Will see how I go and I may look to rebuild a 1200 to factory spec down the track, who knows...

Stay tuned. Back in the country Thursday so will be able to follow up on things and crack the whip :baseballbat: Unfortunately paint wont be anything pretty by Akaroa, but I don't care, I will have all the time in the world after Akaroa (after getting some ideas) before I have to decide on a final paint scheme and start on the interior etc

Peace out.

Sounds like you have it all sussed.

If you get rel stuck with sorting out induction in time for Akaroa, I could lend you my (tuned) sidies and inlet manifold to get you up and running for the cruise.

All looking good Braasy, roll on Akaroa!
Cheers dude, roll on indeed :) Would be nice to turn up all painted and finished, but like anything, time constraints can be a bummer (plus I need to get some paint colour inspiration and will be an ongoing project anyway). Will just have to make sure she has a car wash and I wipe down the engine bay to get rid of some of the 40 year old gunk :P

If that red is the factory paint that coby headers are painted with from new, then you really want to get them sandblasted and repaint them with hi temp exhaust paint.
My cobys looked good till they got hot. Then that red all turned to shit.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Yeah, am aware the paint on the headers (orange) will be less than ideal after some time. Like most other stuff so far, with time running out, have just put them in as is. Will look to finish everything off nice down the track. For now, I am keen to just get 'er done and running at least in time for my first Akaroa cruise... I have plenty of time later to learn and do other stuff to her :) I plan to get the headers ceramic coated once I'm ready to.
