leppers not kidding, it was faaaaarking hot today. we were just about to give up and go have a beer. But we pulled the rocker cover off, and bingo! There was a stray rocker laying there in all it's gloy. A couple of quick phone calls to some L series experts, and she was running on 6 again. The beer tasted so much sweeter knowing we had achaived something. It was a crying shame we couldn't have stayed there longer.

Lol, the current motor for the 1600 is one of the first cars I have owned that doesn't have a turbo. I don't miss the petrol costs at the moment. Especially when I owned the 3ltr v6 turbo Nissan Leopard and my 350hp GTiR.
Petrol for those was like
So welcome back to the empty pocket days!

its not actually too bad on gas ginge. obviously when driven hard, it can used a fair bit, but as it doesnt have huge power anyway, it should be semi reasonable.
as soon as its all legit chris, ill pop round and take you for a burn

your very lucky its good on gas,
My VG30 mows through the gas even when you don't boost it, probally due to rough tuning and a hot cam.
Should fully get a kelford grind & run 12psi on it Dylan, make some decent power with that RB25 turbo !

Haha my Z18ET uses pretty much the same amount of gas as the old L18 did. Economy Win!
Stoked that you boys got this running, was a shame I couldn't see it idling while I was down there. Next time!

well on the 31st of last month, refitted the tappet cover after fixing the dislodged rocker and decided to take it for its maiden drive down the road. and i am pleased to say, it runs pretty well. still need to go through and adjust the tappets, and change the thermostat as it goes off the gauge, but aside from that shes all good. took her for a wof as well. all it failed on was a rough wheel bearing, no mirror finish on inside of head lights, steering column not staying in a locked position and the exhaust being "slightly loud".
will fit a spare hub and head lights this week, adjust the column latch and get a resonator welded in then it will be all G. will also fit the wheels from the bluebird. then roll on rakaia
