Good work mate, I'm the guy who hit you up at pick a part the other week. And like everyone else, I have to say this thing is very tidy up close! Definitely one of the tidier Datsuns I've seen around.

Bit of a thread up-date,
The A15 has been in a few months, I finally managed to fix the constant smeg build-up inside the rocker cover as of couple nights ago. Turns out the breather set up was the cause.
Previously there was a hose between the block breather and the rocker cover breather port with a tee joiner half way between branching off to the air cleaner.
I converted it all back to factory spec with the block breather connected to the inlet manifold via the PCV, and the rocker cover connected to the air cleaner hsg.

After a good clean out it has been spotless since.
Its running heaps better too with a new air filter installed as the old filter was well clogged.

Thanks to Brendan the Uterus is sporting new wheels,
Dunlop T-E Lemans in 14x6.5 +4.

Tuesday saw a set of 165/50/14 tyres installed along with new rear shocks, type1 VW rears,
and with thanks to John (skdmrx) new front RCAs,
All topped off with a long needed wheel alignment. Other recent additions include a new 2 1/4" exhaust with single high flow muffler by Hornby Exhausts,
very nice work, fully recommend them.
Also new steering wheel,
Water temp gauge with sender mounted in top radiator hose,
Swapped out 2" blocks for a pair of 3" items,
And also awaiting the arrival of a MadDat short shift kit (Cheers Brassy),
Ive got s13 discs and calipers waiting to go in, just need to sus adaptor plates and longer studs.

Sooo after finally having decent cruising rpm with the install of the A15 and over drive 5 ive gone back to 3800rpm @100kph (140kph on the clock, needs different speedo drive cog) - even though the new wheels are 14's, with the 50 series tyres they have a smaller rolling dia than the balloon spec 13's.

So looks like the next job will be sorting the diff out a new ratio,- show of hands?

Great work, I know you have had a few hassles along the way, but all is forgotten soon after with your first drive

Think the ride height looks great, but just wondering whether the 3" blocks are a good idea? I thought it was only legal to have up to 50mm blocks? I suppose you can get rolling now and have springs reset later as required.

assuming you have a stock 4.1 rear diff (being late model may be different?), I guess if you could find a 3.7 or 3.9 it would help but unsure what ratios are available in an H165 to suit your rear end setup?
By my calcs 3.7 diff on your setup will get you down to 3,600rpm @ 100km/hr. 3.9 will get you to 3,800rpm.

Thats the prob when going to wee stretched 13's or 14's. a small change in rolling diameter, has a great bearing on the actual circumference. drops the car nicely to ground but at expense of high revs/speedo accuracy.

By my calcs

Stock (4 speed 1.00 final drive, 3.9 diff, 12" 155/80 tyres) = 3,488 rpm @ 100km

My setup (5 speed 0.821 final drive, 4.1 diff, 14" 185/55 tyres)= 3,432 rpm @ 100km (-1.6%)

Your setup (I assume as 5 speed 0.821 final drive, 4.1 diff, 14" 165/50 tyres)= 4,028 rpm @ 100km (+15.5%)

Great to hear the progress Joel, really good it was as simple as the breather set up, so you didn't want Mayo with that then?
As stated wheels really suit it, maybe rubber bands are a little small
A 260C diff might work with your setup, maybe hit up John again he may heave one.
