is this the bearing you were talking about? after reading your post i went to the garage and had a look at the top hat and that just slipped right out of it?
only other thing im worried about is the big nut that locks the shock in place that the seal on that isnt sealing in that case what would i do to replace that?

It's hard to tell side on whether that's actually a bearing or a spacer of some sort, (never really worked on one of these cars myself) but if it's a bearing then yes, that's the one you replace (assuming it is actually worn).

I don't know if there's anywhere you can get just the gland nut from, but as I said earlier having a thicker oil in the shock makes it much less likely to leak past the seal - it worked great on my C32.

You don't have to be super accurate with the amount of oil you pour back in, just use roughly the same amount that you pour out of the other one, I think it's usually between 125 and 250ml per side.

You can get seals from a place in ChCh, they are not for this situation but they supply heaps of seals and I am sure they can supply on to your measurements. Flick me a Pm if you want details, I'd need to search them out.

Aren't the seals in the gland nuts actually bonded to the metal? Otherwise yeah, Seal Imports would have something.
