my vote would be:
keep the roof, reinforce it, and make a vinyl cover that is attached to the roof, tow arms, and sides to keep it all enclosed.

Ive said the whole time to take the roof off. but just thinking about it, it may be a good idea to keep it, just to keep the weight up. otherwise it may just bounce all over the road with every pebble it runs over?

It wont bounce unless it has no/rooted shock absorbers. We have untold trailers at work that bounce about a bit. None have shocks. The worst ones are solid mounted. (no springs)

I think the "boat" look will be offset when it has the full BRE paintjob.

from the photoshop pictures, if you take the roof off it stops looking like a 1600 and could be anything (from side on anyway). Not that i'll probably ever get to use it so what i think doesn't really matter  !!

Roof on after photo pics. It looks good behind ur coupe Dan, We have to vote on tis shit. We need the prez to put up the option for voting

1 - roof on
2 - Roof off with vents
3 - No roof no vents

It has to be done fairly.

As for the bbq mounting brendan i reckon that idea is on the dollar just needs finishing.
Ive mounted alot things in motorhome and caravans and that is a pretty cost effective way of doing it and pulls it out to a decent height. There are other ways but fuck they will cost and be time consumig

The months are looming for Akaroa and ive still got to get my bloody wagon painted and re assembled for a target date ive seriously set on top of buying a house in nxt 2 months

I think it looks best with the roof on and second choice is keeping the grill without the roof.
I agree it looks like any old car from the side without either the roof or grill.

I concur roof on looks best otherwise from side on it could be any car as Grant said.

I do understand the issued though.
