hell yeah, it wasnt slow from factory with the twin SU carbs but with the big cam and exhaust and dellortos just everything done to it, it pulls much better, it definitely throws you into your seat and i love scaring new "fast" cars

super happy with it just i do admit she costs a bit

ok so had my car on the dyno yesterday and jesus my carb jetting is so up the shit my air fuel ratio is just crap so at the time i made 60kw at the wheels but with alot of room for improvement with the right carb jetting and resetting the valve clearances

I think 45mm sidies would be best for what you are trying to do. Unless you've chocked them down heaps you won't have enough air speed. Bigger isn't always better...

40mm sidedraughts with 28mm chokes is pretty much what the stock 1171cc SSS's came out with so I would seriously question what you are being told. Have you talked to Franklins and got their advice? They are a great company to deal with.
I'm running 32mm chokes in my engine ( now out to 1500cc ) and that probably is getting to the limit of the 40mm sidedraughts.
I would have thought that twin 45's would have been about right or at the very least 32-34mm chokes on the 40's.
Cheers
