Can you embed your pics so the lazy bastards like me don't have to go to another site? Lol.

Good to see you are progressing through your plans.

Good to see people excited to work on their car, very refreshing.

Just thinking about the engine swap. Will the exhaust line up with the l20b manifold?

nope, the L20B is a bit taller than the L14.

you may be able to strech/force it up to bolt up, but chances are it will probably hit on the steering or something like that

ok so you learn something new everyday,

today i have learnt that pulling an engine and gearbox out of an old car by yourself without and engine crane is hard work,

but its out with no damage to the car so thats a big win in my books,

start time 6:15pm friday
finish time 2:16am saturday

not bad for one man alone with nothing but a few truck straps i think,

picking up the new engine and gearbox this afternoon, so i have all night and tomorrow to get it in and running, hopefully

mistakes i made while removing the engine (silly me)
1. drain the oil from the gearbox, that shit goes everywhere....
2. make sure the nut for the gearstick is NOT rounded off (thanks last guy who took the gearbox out)
3. invest in lots of beer
4. take the time to find an engine crane,

i will put pics up at some point, and a video or two of me cussing the world,

any tips for the engine install would be most appreciated,
im new to the whole pulling a car apart without a fully functional garage with hoist and everything you could ever want.

now im going to bed

dont worry man, most people dont have access to a hoist or full garage any way. some tips, if you can get hold of an engine crane, even better if it has an engine leveller on it. if it doesnt have the leveller, i find it easier to fir it back up without the gear box, then lift that in later. if you cant get an engine crane, a chain block still works wonders. second, try have a mate to give you a hand. everything is so much easier with 2 extra hands. one can operate crane/chain block while other can guise the engine into the hole.

lastly, just take your time and have fun doing it. i take it this is the 1st time you are doing an engine swap of some sort. i can tell you its a great feeling after all the swearing, bashed and cut fingers and effort to hear the engine turn over and kick into life. makes the hole process worthwile
