At the end of the day NZDatsun.com is about building cars, helping people and supporting it's friendly community.
Sure it may not have the traffic of such websites like um... oldschool.co.nz but its never been about post counts.
I've meet some awesome people here and stay here for the help and support the community has provided.
I think that alone will prevent the website dying down.

Well put Adam, I really appreciate both you and Chris for sharing your builds and passion. I was stupid enough not to join till my build was done, so feel I am a poor contributor. I look forward to the updates on members ongoing builds, maybe I should add just something to my 1600 one. Who knows I guess someone might be interested.
Facebook isn't me, I have subscribed, and even posted at times, but i just don't go on Facebook, so never keen up to date with what is going on there. Does it point people to NZDatsun.com? Or just add some confusion? I struggle with having it if it doesn't feed people to the forum.

I know both Bart and Brassy are on there quite a bit - always answering posts - pointing people to the forum rather than using facebook as a forum.
You can't be everywhere at once and Facebook, lets "face" it has a very large audience and its free advertising - may just need a re jig to point people to the site better.

Perhaps the page is not the problem, but in fact your attitude?
There are people working their butts off to do as much as they can for this club, and i know for a fact that we get forum visits and new members from Brock PMing them and telling them to join the site. If you don't like the site, don't go on it!!!
Fair enough if you think it sucks, but don't come on here slagging off the hard work of others. I have always been a firm believer that if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
This is not a directive of the club, more a personal one.
I would just like to say that i am getting rather annoyed with the negativity being brought to this forum. I believe that in itself is MUCH worse than an inactive facebook page! How must it look to new members?
Anyways i'm not going to get into a personal debate here, as i have said numerous times i am all about THE CLUB and doing the best by it.
If that means working hard on the Facebook page, i'll do it! I'll put my hand up, it brings in more members so i'm all for it.
Anyways back to work for me, hope everyone has a much more positive day, look forward to seeing you all next weekend

FB is another medium to advertise the club. It costs nothing.

If at any stage the Committee feels that the facebook page is detracting from the forum/club, instead of promoting it, then it's only one or two clicks to remove.

fyi : the About tab URL leading to "here" is 'wrong'
might be stopping people returning back here
I'm not a newb, but the 404 made me think this place was gone for a parsec
