i got it running last night, new plugs and fired 1st time - just wont crank on the key, so had to earth the starter

WELL - it revved to about 5g and stayed there - got half a bird nest stuck in the carby. pulled all that out fired her up and sweet as idles good no smoke etc.
drove it out onto the road and turned her round - mint as light steering in the 185/80/14's.
backed it back onto the grass and F##k brakes jammed again and lots of skids on the lawn - is now stuck there - tomorrows job to get back off the lawn.

swap the big radiator for a f***ked 1200 one aye - its only gonna get smashed.

Also taking any ideas to keep it alive and make strong - doors etc are going to be welded and chained.
a strip of 3mm plate will get welded to the b pillers etc so she'll be strong.

Anyone else got pics or a story of them doing a demo derby???.....

i dont think you are allowed to add any strengthening braces to the car. they only let you bolt or chain the doors and bonnet shut.

Shame on you for thinking anything different of a mighty L6.

Shame redemption available only if video evidence is produced of the victorious 260C.

Put diesel in the washer bottle, cut the hose and re-direct it down the tunnel about an inch off the exhaust. Half way through the derby, start pumping it out so people think you are about dead (shame on them for not knowing the true nature of the L6), then scare the shit out of them...muhahahaha. It's been done before. If you are worried about flames, I suggest you trial soem alternative fluids.

good luck, will be a beast of a thing to derby thats for sure..Iv done a couple of derbies at meanee, you need a solid roll bar from the floor to the roof behind the drivers seat, i welded some pipe in behind the drivers door to beef it up. This isnt a problem as its just for personal saftey, you arnt supposed to hit in the drivers door but its bound to happen.oh and a harness is a must! theyre good fun and well worth the effort
