Lol, I hope a few of us are gonna build some of these, we are starting ours on the weekend! Picked up a old BMX from a mate yesterday.
Whats the deal with brakes? Do you guys just have fronts & use ur weight to throw them sideways or do you have sum sort of handbrake setup?

Just a brake on the front wheel for stopping when your hitting 70ks . Look up huffy slider on google images theres a badass one on there. You dont need to throw your weight you just turn sharply and it drifts hard. There should be 10 trikes on the roads of chch very soon.

Mean! went for a slide tonight on some new wheels i made. Wheel chair front wheels with sealed bearings, with pvc pipe over them. Worked pretty well its a bit too slippery so does huge drifts but not quite as much steerage. I did a few drifts at around 50ks pretty scary haha :deadhorse:

Yus my mate finally let me have a turn on his huffy slider. he has a cateye speedo thing on his front wheel and we were going down Te Mata Peak in Havelock North and throwing it in to corners at 70Kph I thought iHad the hang f it and went for almost 90degrees angle and hit the gutter and skinned my ass. its so sore!

can you put a pic up of the "new" wheels andy?
we went to a plastics shop to make wheels out of solid plastic but god dam it was expencive

Yeah i will some time its 200mm pvc pipe over small inflatable wheels that i let down then slip the pip on and inflate them again. They arnt as good as the huffy slider wheels they are the best. Havent found any black pipe to slip over yet.
