I would advise against por on the diff etc, as after a period of time it WILL fade and look shit, besides por sticks to everything
BUT NOTHING STICKS TO por

update..... rear end has been sitting ready to go in all painted and pretty for the last 3 weeks courtesy of a lack of alcohol and brendans finely tuned tolerance skills.

the reason its not in is due to the bushes. i have checked and rechecked with bnt, who say they are the right ones. but christ almighty iv attempted for hours apon hours trying to fit the c#nts!!

i know you will all say its probably me and my lack of car knowledge but brendan had a go too! and its just ridiculous!

the issue is the inner hole is about 11mm, and needs to be more like 12.5mm to fit the 3 prong leaf spring attacher through the holes.

i dont know the actual correct name for them but the issue is to do with the two holes that sit under the rear seats? that the bushes sit in. the O.D. is perfect....... but the inner cant be right. before the 3 prong thing slides in its gravy, but if you try and force the fucker..... well lucky i have spares.

does anyone have experience fitting them to 1200s??
any help will be very appreciated!

Luke dont waste your time.
I frigged around for ages trying to get mine to fit.
they dont.
and you cant drill out or persuade the nolethane.
I reverted back to using my OEM bushes on that friggin end!
gutted, but I had to move on.
Bart runs solid alloy ones I think, but my ridgy ones were still in good nic
so I put new bolts in and dialled up nice and tight after cleaning and greasing them.

can the bushes be put in a lathe and the centre holes machined out? (bart has access to such a machine).
I know I replaced the bushes on my car and had no problems, but I got mine from ,stokes, so could be a case of them using differant suppliers.

going by your discription we know exactly what parts your talking about,sounds like your doing everything correctly, just a case of
possibly being supplied incorrectly fitting parts, (frustrating part of car building)

I got my bushes from bnt. They were bloody tight but I got them in with force. Put a very slight taper on leading edge of pin ( being careful not to get the thread) which helped also eliminates chance of tearing the bush and obviously use some emery tape or something to get pins clean and smooth. I used a hammer, "G" clamp and poly grips. A decent sized and decent quality engineering G clamp will see you right. keep up the good work

I think from memory I opted for lots of grease and a g clamp too as I went through the same problem too. THink its just the nolathane ones arent made quite right

the mentioning of the g clamp has jogged my memory, I too had to go with that technique, and plenty of grease.

Thanks for that!!! I had access to 2 full sets of them bushes so picked what I guessed were ok, and maybe..... Just maybe, as of 12.26am this very morning as I write this post.... The back end is in!!! !!!

I even did it all myself too.... Mostly. Brendan put it together so I knew how it went back in. Proud moment for me.
So yes rear is in, complete with chrome painted shocks, just coz I can. And my zinked 2inch lowering blocks. Sitting on my 13x7s and looking so different from 4 weeks ago.

Your lowering blocks were the only thing I couldn't plate remember as they are alloy so I just buffed them up instead
