Put my new silicone bottom radiator hose on today, the top one is just a little bit too short so will weld a little extension to the radiator to make it fit.
Double checked the cam belt tension to try and sort this noise out, I reset it to very slightly tighter that it was before but the noise still seems to be there so I have a feeling that the tensioner is noisy. When I pull the radiator out to weld the extension on I'll change the tensioner again.

Did you refit the belt the same way around as it was when it came off?
I heard somewhere that belts where a certain way, and if put back on backwards they can make a noise?

They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
It's a brand new belt, it's got direction arrows on it and it's going the right way.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Have pretty much just been driving this thing around lately, seems to be going pretty well, still leaking a little bit of oil.
Today I thought I'd swap the centre gauges over as the voltage gauge was reading quite low, turns out the new one reads low as well for some reason, must be something else wrong, the new analogue clock is quite loud as well, not that you'd notice it once the engine is running. I changed the orange rubber boots on the bulbs over to blue ones so it looks much nicer.

Don't really get to stretch it's legs on the way to and from work but it's pretty quick.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
The new gauges. There's no oil pressure sensor so that gauge doesn't work and the voltage gauge seems to be dicky, but other than that they look cool!
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Fixed the voltage gauge, the needle was touching on the gauge face so I bent it out slightly and now it's fine.
I took the radiator out to try and sort out the fan mounting, not 100% sure what I'm going to do but I've got a week to sort it out.
